| i heard what they said about jax. thats all it was? he had mentioned something about they are talking now. and they wanted to give him a bonus of $5000 a year. MJ said he was offended by that offer. |

| MJ did not make the big announcement this morning. He said he will get to it in the next couple of days or weeks. All he said is that it has nothing to do with the Jacksonville contract. I'm guessing it is about a new big affiliate station or something along those lines. |

In regard to Jacksonville and 97.9 KISSFM:
Someone said "He was offended by a $5,000 a year bonus..." No, that's not the case, as I understand it. The increase of $5,000 per year would be in salary for the show, which was already on in Jacksonville at an extremely cheap price. MJ has taken his show into that market and been very solid in the ratings each time that the ratings have been released. The show has done so well that MJ believes, and he's got every right to do so, that it's time for WFKS / 97.9 KISSFM to finally pay the amount that the show is truly worth. Will it happen? I don't know, as I'm not privy that information. Would it be in KISSFM's best interest to pay up? Absolutely, IMO.
In regard to the announcement:
I'd wager good money that it's a new affiliate market, perhaps Miami.

umm I'm pretty sure he was offended by the 5k offer. He feels the show is worth more than that. I agree. Thats only like 4.80 per hour more than what they make now. |

I mean yes i understand you want to get paid, but he already lost one market and will lose another.. Dont you think you would do whatever to keep yourself on the air? its not like they are takign money away, they are just not giving him a lot. If i were him i woudl take it so that he will not lose another one, if Other markets see that then they wont even bother. he is not being fair to the jacksonville listeners, because he is not getting th emoney he wants, if thats not greed than i dont know what is!

Really? Even if I was a Corvette or American Sports Car lover, I would still take the Bentley. (This pure Logic talking of course) Sell it, buy the corvette and have about $100,000.00

The correction I was making is that someone had termed the $5,000 as a "bonus," when in fact it was a "salary" offer. There's a difference.

How do you figure he's got it backwards? The show has likely brought in many thousands of dollars for WFKS and MJ feels that it's high time that he and the crew got what they're worth. A show of this nature has a certain "fair market value" and Jacksonville isn't willing to pay it.

Good Grief, don't tear apart my words. you know what i meant  ne who, You work for z1077? are you a behind the scenes guy or are you on the air. I don't listen to this station except for in the morning so I wouldnt know. Meatball perhaps? |
